Question: Who invented electric bicycle?

Two years later, in 1897, Hosea W. Libbey of Boston invented an electric bicycle (U.S. Patent 596,272) that was propelled by a double electric motor. The motor was designed within the hub of the crankset axle.

Where did e bikes come from?

The first e-bikes known as a pedal-assist pedelec came into existence around the 1990s. Michael Kutter of Switzerland created an e-bike with no throttle and with the power controlled by pedals. In 1993, Yamaha produced a machine similar to Kutters machine.
